RESPONSIBILITIES

Individuals within the Quality Assurance job family are responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality applications. 

The primary role of this Sr. QA Analyst will be to develop formal test plans and implement test methods, perform and/or coordinate system verification test activities to ensure the delivery of quality applications. Sr. QA Analysts work on multiple programs/systems as a project team member. They work on projects of high complexity within multiple development environments.

 Responsibilities include participation in:

• In-depth analysis of requirements
• Test Case/Test Script development
• Evaluation of testing environment and test data requirements
• Preparing, maintaining and reviewing test case documentation
• Establishing, maintaining and implementing test methodology and procedures for product test and end to end/integration test with external organizations
• Integration, casing, scripting and execution of all tests

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Interacts with IS development staff, software vendors, consultants, user community, support staff, system managers and professional organizations.
• Performs in-depth analysis of business requirements and design specifications and may make recommendations on testing.  Implements testing plans.
• Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of the testing process that will be used across the project.
• Evaluates the testing environment, conditions and criteria under which test case automation should occur.
• Evaluates and recommends testing processes to improve testing effectiveness. 
• Conducts walk-through for various processes within the test cycle and communicates this information to key team members and stakeholders.
• Prepares, maintains and reviews test case documentation.  Ensures metrics comply with testing and customer requirements.  Monitors and analyzes metrics.
• Identifies technical and operational problems on installed test networks, test systems and testing products.
• Validates and documents completion of testing and development processes.
• Ensures tests are repeatable, verifiable and understandable by technical and business functions.

• Expert ability to apply quality assurance knowledge to in-depth testing and test plans.
• Advanced technical knowledge including system development lifecycle, methodology and testing knowledge.
• Excellent knowledge of mainframe, minicomputer, or microcomputer.
• Advanced knowledge of the key processes in the business.
• Advanced awareness and sensitivity to the needs of internal or external clients.
• Advanced knowledge of business requirements.
• Expert knowledge of quality assurance review and inspections process as it relates to the stages of system/application development.

Education:  

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Management or related discipline or the equivalent in education and work experience.  Relevant experience of 5-7 years.
