The Senior Designer will work with assigned development team members to lead the CAD development of implants and instrumentation through the modeling and detailing of designs. Will also develop / maintain expertise in Pro E design software and act as the technical mentor in this area for the team. This position serves as a mentor to other Designers and requires minimal supervision. • Modeling and detailing of implant and instrumentation designs utilizing the PRO E design software. • Develop prototypes for design verification and validation. • Serve as main design interface with clinical advisors to gether input for design and evaluation of new product. • Lead the utilization / management of the Design Controls (NPDP) • Lead designer on crossfunctional design teams to develop new product, address design issues, and maitain existing designs. • Utilize knowledge/experience of the surgical procedures to develop innovative solutions to solve / satisfy customer needs. • Serve as mentor to Designers and Associate Designers, when needed
Qualifications/Work Experience
• 5 years of product design experience in the medical device industry or equivalent. • Expertise in a parametric CAD design package. • PRO E Wildfire with advanced rounds and surfacing, GT&T, family tables, assembly and drawing creation of complex geometry. • Expertise in mechanical design, including fixture and work holding devise with design controls within a regulated industry helpful. • Candidates should be self-starters, have a hands-on approach and capability to work independently.
Education and/or Special Training
Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline required OR Associate's Degree with at least 2 years of equivalent work experience. Engineering Technology studies preferred.
