Overview:
Reports to Director, Merchandise Information Systems
Key Accountabilities:
Manage the systems that allow merchants to control pricing of all merchandise. $11 billion in annual gross price change volume.
Play a key role in testing, training, integration of new Markdown Optimization software with existing internal Macy's Pricing platform
Ensure that Price Integrity is maintained and supported at all times through enforcement of policies and procedures and to optimize efficiencies in the process for Buying Line and Store-Line.
Liaison with Merchant, Store-line, Divisional Operations, Macys System and Technology (MST) organizations in coordinating day to day efforts as well as longer term needs
Be integral in strategic problem solving and development of creative methods for supporting merchant organization
Manage and develop analysts and clericals responsible for running the operations of the Price Change and SIGN departments
Operational Responsibilities:
Knowledgeable of Zone and National pricing systems, Sign systems and the interfaces to other systems including item/basics file, purchase order, and stock systems.
Manage an audit process to ensure pricing integrity by merchants and store-line and timely resolution of pricing discrepancies
Manage various pricing tests conducted in pilot FOBs or LOCs/zones to ensure that pricing objectives are met.
Coordinate and liaise with MST to develop, test and install systems upgrades, as needed
Partner and coordinate with Human Resource, Merchant and Divisional Operations pyramids to communicate and train policies and procedures of systems under responsibility to store-line and buying line
Responsive to questions/challenges from all buyers, DMM's and GMM levels to support existing and new methods for pricing of merchandise
Meet regularly with representatives from Loss Prevention, Divisional Operations, HR and Selling Services to coordinate monthly and seasonal Pricing workload
Routinely conduct meetings with subordinates and staff to manage projects timely and generate quality product; assure adequate training and development of staff
Skills Summary:
3 to 5 years prior experience in managing subordinates
Familiar with using computer systems in daily tasks and responsibilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to analyze and review data and information in a manner that shows ability to understand the business, identify opportunities and creatively problem solve
Persuasive and confident personality
Background in retail math, Gross Margin and Inventory Shortage concepts preferred
College degree required
