Overview:
The Item/Basics Specialist will be responsible for style level maintenance that is required in the mainframe system, ensuring the highest degree of accuracy and will develop an audit process to ensure the integrity of the style file is maintained. The Specialist will support the Merchant Organization and work directly with the merchant team on problem resolution and will recommend, develop, and update training communications as well as best practices.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Create and manage the process of item style maintenance requests. Responsible for the validation of data provided by Merchants. And ensuring requests are processed timely, accurately, and communicated back to the specific Merchant upon completion.
  • Identify and track Family of Business requiring significant style maintenance for training purposes.
  • Recommend and assist in the development of training documentation and or Best Practices to be incorporated with scheduled Merchant training classes and refresher update classes as required.
  • Complete reporting that identifies purchase order retails that are not in sync with the mainframe system. Work with merchant teams on resolution.
  • Run queries to audit merchant style creation accuracy. Ensure status codes are in sync with the markdown retail.
  • Responsible for reviewing and validating movement of style records. Review errors associated with style move and merge processes and coordinate with Merchants to prevent both future and repetitively occurring issues.
  • Review the Purchase Order Cancellation Report to ensure that receipts are not delayed.
  • Regulate and release all Macy's brand item style moves, systemic price/quantity changes working closely with Allocators to effectively manage process.
  • Create style records for merchandise that is not carried by Macy' but resides in the mainframe system.
  • Provide regular and daily support to Merchants and Allocators as required.
  • Keep up to date with Systemic updates and process changes that may affect any of the above processes.
Skill Summary:
  • BA/BS Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Lotus Notes.
  • Intermediate at excel, able to work and manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and tech savvy skills.
  • Must have strong analytical skills and be a strategic thinker.
  • Must be able to work and thrive in a fast paced environment.
