OVERVIEW: Environmental Design Manager for the preparation of design drawings, specifications and reports for moderate to complex remediation projects including superfund projects. Strong communication, technical writing, organizational, and presentation skills are required. Ability to encourage, manage, and maintain the direction of a large project with multiple involved parties.
Understands site conceptual models as the basis for creating approaches to corrective actions that incorporate risk based strategies with active remediation for smart remedial solutions.
Proven performance working with state regulators in New Jersey and New York regulators in EPA Region 2 to present sound remedies protective of human health and the environment.
Serves as the design manager for environmental remediation projects using source removal, containment, in-situ remediation, bioremediation, capping and natural attenuation approaches and provides direction on scope development, pre-design investigation, bench and pilot testing, evaluation, design, and implementation. Practical experience with design and field implementation of in-situ remediation technologies such as chemical oxidation (MFR, Persulfate etc.).
Candidate must also implement behavior-based safety tools to strive for incident free operations (no personal injuries, property damage or environmental releases) for both the Client and Parsons.
Qualifications: ESSENTIALS: 4-year degree (minimum) or MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related technical field and at least 10 to 15 years of experience focusing on engineering and project management of large remediation projects including superfund sites.
Technical experience in various remediation engineering areas such as landfills, solidification/stabilization, subsurface barrier walls (i.e. slurry walls), and excavation required. The candidate shall have experience in various phases of investigation, design, and construction.
The candidate should exhibit proven project management, technical leadership and client management experience and a thorough knowledge of current technologies, industry practices, and regulations of the required expertise.
Professional Engineer license in New Jersey and New York is required.
