Our professionals focus on delivering operational strategy, business process improvement and business integration services through the full project life cycle from assessment through design and implementation. Our projects span functional operations from originations, credit granting / decisioning, fulfillment, servicing, ongoing portfolio management and default management including performance reporting and measurement. The Credit and Default Management team assists financial and other credit intensive institutions in designing, implementing and operating state-of- the-art credit management, default management and compliance risk methodologies that represent the leading practices within their industry including the best leverage of enabling technology.
Manager Job Description
The Manager will leverage knowledge and experience to manage the delivery of credit management advisory solutions to leading consumer and commercial lending organizations; including, mortgage, credit card, mortgage, captive finance companies. Projects will focus on credit processes, controls, credit and behavioral scoring tools and techniques, portfolio analytics, loss mitigation, default management and operational transformation. Typically, engagements are client-specific and designed to yield operational efficiencies and effectiveness, improved cash flows, reduced credit losses and operating expenses, enhanced credit risk management and deployment of enabling technology.
Manager responsibilities and job duties will include:
Developing and maintaining deep subject matter expertise in relevant credit management functions
Running project(s) as project manager or program management office
Creating deliverables for written & oral presentations
Designing approaches for projects demonstrating problem-solving ability
Extending client-relationship building activities
Identifying potential opportunities/ support sales, proposal/engagement letter development and marketing efforts to achieve annual sales and managed revenue goals
Meeting manager level utilization goals annually
Developing subject matter expertise within the credit lifecycle (i.e., default management) through self study and formal training
Managing key practice development initiatives involving junior staff
Assist in the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods and tools to support service offering or client projects
Actively participate in decision making with engagement management and seek to understand the broader impact of current decisions
Generate innovative ideas and techniques to challenge the status quo
Facilitate use of technology-based tools or methodologies to review, design and/or implement products and services
Play substantive/lead role in engagement planning, economics, billing and project risk review practices
Assist in mentoring, training, development and retention of professionals
Play substantive role in enhancing relationships with Deloitte & Touche Audit, Tax & Consulting professionals
Identify opportunities to cross-sell other services
Demonstrate a general knowledge of market trends, competitor activities, Deloitte & Touche products and service lines
Build and nurture positive working relationships with clients with the intention to exceed client expectations and gain understanding of clients' business environment
Participate in "add-on" sales to client
Membership and visibility in professional & civic organizations
Minimum requirements:
The managerial candidate should have 7 or more years experience in the Credit industry and/or consulting environment in a financial services or telecommunications environment. A BA/BS in an analytical, business or finance-related undergraduate degree is required. Progression in the Chartered Financial Analyst or Project Management Professional program is a plus.
Comprehensive business and technical knowledge of credit lifecycle management methodologies and techniques (as appropriate for a small business, commercial, retail and mortgage credit focus), such as:
Credit management evaluation, including qualitative and quantitative approaches, as well as modeling, analytics and forecasting
Default management, loss mitigation and call center procedures
Credit exposure measurement techniques
Regulatory compliance and statutory requirements
Leading practices in credit lifecycle processes, policies, organizational structure, staffing models, data/metrics, reporting, etc.
Credit lifecycle systems and enabling technologies to enable efficient execution of the areas above
Understanding of retail, small business, commercial and mortgage activities and applications.
Project management experience including the application of standard project management methodology
Experience managing and motivating teams of individuals
Ability to set priorities, manage time effectively, manage multiple projects, guide and direct the activities of team members and work effectively both independently and within team structures.
Experience effectively interfacing with senior management and executives especially in client project situations
Ability to team and network within the organization and externally with clients
Excellent oral and written communication skills coupled with outstanding presentation skills.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively (primarily across North America but international travel is possible).
