Assistant Professor of Music Management
The University is pleased to solicit applications and nominations for a faculty position for the academic year 2012-2013. Unless otherwise indicated, faculty appointments are tenure-track at the rank of Assistant Professor and require an earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in the field. (ABD's may however be considered for appointment at the rank of instructor, with projected completion of degree requirements by June 2013).
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music management programs with a specialization in issues of copyright and licensing, as well as courses in the new B.A. in Popular Music with an emphasis on song writing (including issues related to copyright) and social media. Assist the music management program coordinator in the development of curriculum. Strong commitment to teaching, scholarship and creative expression, and service to the department, college, and the University required. College teaching experience and terminal degree in a relevant field required. Credentials including publications representing an interdisciplinary grasp of some combination of music, law, and and/or management preferred. This position is subject to available funding. The academic year commences September 2012.
