President

NGC is currently seeking to recruit an outstanding, results-driven individual for the position of President.  The President reports to the Board and is responsible for the provision of effective leadership and direction to ensure that the company achieves its strategic goals.  This entails working with all stakeholders to develop and implement the Company’s business objectives in order to maximize shareholder value, while developing a highly motivated, business-oriented, and customer-driven organization.  The incumbent leads the organization in the development of the natural gas and associated sectors in accordance with the Government’s policy framework, and in expanding the business through acquisitions, joint ventures, and international investments.

Candidates must have a demonstrable track record in leading a successful company or a significant SBU, preferably in the oil and gas sector, and currently holds a senior general management or other strategic leadership position.  Progressive career growth should have been in the areas of Engineering, Operations, Finance and Economics, or other related business functions.  Applicants should ideally have hands on experience and be able to demonstrate considerable competence in the technical, finance, economics and marketing, organisation transformation, relationship-building and negotiating arenas of the business.

The preferred candidate would have excellent networking and negotiating skills, involving various stakeholders including government, senior industry officials, strategic alliance partners, foreign consultants/contractors, financial institutions, and potential investors.  Candidates must possess strong leadership and communication skills and be politically astute in both local and international contexts. 

Applicants must have an engineering background and should hold suitable tertiary qualification, preferably at the Masters Degree level in Engineering, Business, or related field, with at least twenty (20) years’ experience in the energy sector, of which at least ten (10) must be in a very senior leadership position at a significant organization.

The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) plays a leading and key role in the development of the country’s natural gas industry.

NGC is a diversified natural gas company involved in the purchase, transportation, and sale of natural gas in Trinidad and Tobago.  The Company owns and operates a natural gas transmission and distribution pipeline network comprised of both offshore and onshore pipelines.  In addition, NGC is involved in investment activities through shareholding in the processing of natural gas and LNG, in parallel with the promotion and facilitation of investment in the local gas sector.
